17" rims, 235/45's on my 5ktq - they fit :)

The problem was not with the diameter, or with the rims. When I first
offered them up in the front they tyres were hitting the control arms. I
needed about 4mm to clear. There is a protruding weld seam around the
control arm which I ground about an inch of away, and welded the seam
flat. Then putting the 8mm spacers on gave me plenty of clearance.
I wanted to use the 45's as I live in NE, and the roads suck. Potholes and
frost heaves all over the place. Plus the 45's were stock on the rims I
bought from e-bay for a bargain.
