Split CV Inner CV Boot

I've tried the split boots on two different occassions where I had to travel
when I noticed problems with the boot. Neither time produced satisfactory
results. In both cases the boots split open along the seam. These were glue
together type boots, which is all that I could find, and I suspect that it's
very difficult to keep the seam grease free while your gluing it. I would
recommend that you bite the bullet and just replace the boot. If you must go
somewhere in a hurry I've known people that got by with cleaning the boot
with a grease free solvent, like break cleaner, and applied copious amounts
of silicone, in thin layers, over the area surrounding the tear.
