I know the feeling. I have been trying to get my 120 Jag painted in the
proper shade of silver and it's been impossible. I would like to go on record as
saying I AM CONSIDERING CHANGING THE COLOR. That's right, the straw that broke
the camels back was the final test shot that contained too much green. What is
our country coming to !!!????

<<The level of paranoia in this country is absurd; >>
Very true. How many times have I heard "Ron, the MGA Twin Cam is not a
reliable car"?
Those people fail to realize that with the timing properly adjusted, the
compression reduced to 8.3:1 and, I cannot stress this enough, insulating mounts
for the carburetors, that the Twin Cam can be, yes I know it's a bold
statement, reliable car.
But no, those who are absurdly paranoid STILL think that they are troublesome
cars.

<< all the policy/security nazis are coming out of the woodwork >>
The answer is obvious. On the 120 Jag only the FHC and DHC have woodwork. The
OTS (Roadster) has a leather covered dash. If you have a roadster there would
be no woodwork for nazi's or anyone else to come out of. Yet another reason
to buy an open car.

<< some sheep a TV crew dredges up happily talks >>
Talking Sheep !!!! Another case of cloning gone very bad.
No wonder there's so much resistance. Who wants sheep wandering around saying
"shear me, shear me" in front of our children?
Besides, sheep dredging is illegal in 38 states. People Insistent on
Silencing Sheep (PISS) are having a movement to make it a federal law.

<< because it makes him/her feel a little bit safer in these "dangerous
times". >>
Undoubtedly you're talking about radial tires. Yes, they may feel a bit safer
but the old bias plies are more forgiving, at least on the cars from the 40s
and 50s. So the "dangerous times" you mention has everything to do with the
vehicle and driver. Put a good set of bias tires on a 356 and you'll enjoy the
feeling of a controlled slide that is very hard to duplicate on Radials. Just
my opinion.

<< Undiscloseable searches of library >>
I caught my girlfriend at the time looking through my copy of "British cars
at LeMans" without telling me. It's frightening. All I can say is Thank God it
wasn't "Porsches at LeMans" or I would have gone ballistic too. And I don't
even want to contemplate what I would do if it were my copy of Automobile Year
Number 3 that she were browsing.

<< you won't even be able to get on the goddamn SUBWAY >>
Speaking of SUBWAY, does anyone remember the name of the guy who lost about
200 lb by eating their sandwiches?

<< How The Club Lost a Radio To Your Government. >>
I once lost an old Blaupunkt on eBay to someone who paid, IMHO, far too much.
I bitched and moan for a while so I know exactly what you're going through.
It's not a good feeling, that's for sure.

I understand why this was posted here, there are NO groups on the Internet
that have anything to do with politics....
Oh well,

Ron
