Randy,
I ended up with not noisy synchros, but slipping synchros when I
foolishly
put Mobil 1 Gear Lube (GL5, not the required GL4) in my 200q's gearbox.
I put in Redline MTL 90 (the heavier one, the lighter one is just called
MTL)
and within a day things improved remarkably. Within a week, it was like
there was no problem at all. All this occurred in spite of the fact the
M1
was in the box for close to 60 K miles. After this experience, I believe
in
Redline Gear Manual tranny lube!
