Struck Odometer on 4ksq

As per my usual custom, every time I fill up, I plug in the miles drive over
the gallons pumped to figure my gas mileage. I have learned that drastic
drops or improvements in gas mileage can be unnoticed indicators of serious
issues. Today as my habit goes, I figured my mileage, pushed the trip meter
reset button and drove off. About 20 miles later I noticed that nether my
trip meter nor my odometer have moved. I played around with the reset button
wildly, but nothing seems to help! Is this a common problem? How do I fix
it?
