How do you tighten inner CV-joint bolts? (Type-44)

For the best answer to this question, Nick is most definitely the winner... I just did it this morning all by myself and it was so easy. I used a 9" long 1/2" extension w/ a wobble adapter (8" would've been better). I also used the 10mm triple-square bit which was locked into a 1/2" socket base. That made things a lot easier by keeping the bit from falling out everytime I did another bolt. The only problem w/ it is that all these bits will wear out eventually, and they're not so cheap to replace. Anyway, I hope this gets into the archives for others to benefit from...

Here is the easy way, you will need longer extensions! With the wheel
off and the car supported properly on stands. Put two lug bolts back in,
finger tight OK. Drop a 1/4" (+-) punch thhrough the middle of the brake
caliper into the slots in the rotor. Sit on a comfortable stool and have
at it. I usually tap the extensions and bit with a hammer to insure they
are seated in the bolt head.
Much better than laying under neath and you can turn the axle as necessary.
