I just put in the starter on my 5kT and I was wondering what I should do for that lower t-bolt thing. Has anyone replaced the t-bolt w/ a real bolt when replacing their starter? I remember I had a lot of trouble pulling the old one out, so I figure I'd change it. I just hope that w/ the front pipe in the way, the t-bolt won't be necessary (I haven't mounted the front pipe or even the manifold yet). Last thing, is the bolt head s'posed to be facing the front of the car w/ the nut in the opening in the tranny (opposite to the other bolt)? The opening in the tranny seems to be too small for the long bolt to pass through, but I just want to be sure, so I can take out the starter w/o pulling the front pipe next time. Thanks.
