changing comp. and drier

Hi Listers ,

I am now without AC for my 86 4kntnq
I have had the system checked and evacuated.
My leaks are the drier and the front seal of the compressor.
Is this a relatively simple swap ? Do I need any special tools to make this 
work ?
I have no problem with letting a shop do the recharge for the R12. But I 
blinked
when they said it would be 500-600 for just the labor.
