Pull the servotronic relay and you'll get higher effort steering
at low speeds.  I think the relay is located behind the glove box
on your car and should be marked "Servotronic".

Hmm, you really must have a fairly bare-bones model.  The "regular"
auto climate control on the C4 cars is soooo much better than the
GM unit on the type 44.
