anyone ever had any experience w/ painting vinyl/rubber??

i have a molded rubber spoiler i want to paint the color of the car..  its 
foam core w/ a soft rubber coating.  it bends/flexes very easily.   similar to 
the rubber spoilers of early sciroccos/jettas/audi 4000q etc..    how would i 
paint this?  im afraid of it not adhereing and cracking off if the rubber 
expands or contracts, or if its bumped..  any ideas?
