Type 44 a/c question

Thanks all, I will relay your remarks to the owner of the car. No, it's not 
my car (luckily, in this respect) and I'm afraid, Mike A, that the owner 
won't fund my study trip to the US to scavenge for GM a/c programmers. :-(

It looks like I'll be able to help the owner find the fault now. The 
programmer is behind the dash, right? Not the unit in the dash with the 
huge amount of non-Audi buttons? We will also check the solenoids.
