Well, actually, 101's reputation was built back when it was a *very* 
busy two lane road.  Its complete replacement with a fully divided four 
lane 65 mph artery was very welcome.  Although a bit disorienting to us 
old folks for a bit...  We can only dream that someday the sea port and 
the capitol will get a similar connector (although, replacing "antique 
alley" (Route 4) just doesn't seem as compelling...)
