V6 temp problem

Don't know if this exactly replicates your problem:

My '93 100 used to do that, the winter after we bought
it.  I don't have the blinky light code memorized, but
it basically said "engine too cold after 18 minutes of
operation".  Give me an opportunity and I can look it
up.

At the same time, the heater output from the car was
lousy, and at times the temp gauge barely moved.  Oil
temp low too.

When the weather warmed up, the problem sort of went
away.  That summer, the timing belt, water pump,
thermostat and serpentine belt/tensioner were all
changed.  The following fall and two years since,
plenty of heat and no blinky light codes saying the
engine was too cold.

You too may have a stuck open themostat...
