So the guy leaves a high powered car at the track and goes home? Methinks
him taking the key with him was not an accident :)

Speaking of keys, my first car, a '66 Volvo 1800s, could be started with
pretty much anything that would fit in the ignition slot. I found this out
one day by accident...the key slipped right out of the ignition while the
engine was on. I looked at the key and noticed that it didn't have much in
the way of serrations. So I tried a screwdriver. Worked fine. The car was
only 12 years old at the time, but I guess the tumblers were a bit worn...
