spring compressors getting in the way (front suspension)...

Anyone evere found a set of good spring compressors that don't get in the way? I hooked up ones I'm renting from Autozone, but they're too close to the spring, so the threaded rod hits the strut housing and prevents me from putting on the compressed spring. If I do it the other way, I won't be able to attachthe upper spring seat and all that stuff. Also, I remember I had to place the spring compresors less than 180 deg apart when placing the assembly back on the car cuz of the tight space under there. Anyone figure out workarounds, how bout BTDT's? Thanks.
