<Your failures also beg the questions: What was the failure mode?
Bearings? Diodes? Windings? Brushes? Are you doing <something unusual?
Like jump starting someone elses car while your engine is running? Do
you have high current use devices <installed? Like a 5000 watt
amplifier?

Both times bearings (with accompanying "wooshing" sound). Replaced both
times with remanufactured units. The main problem is that it seems to
happen a couple of days after the warranty is up. I switched companies
I bought from because of that alternator warranty, and to answer your
questions, no, I don't jump-start, no, I don't have high current
devices, unless you count the 25 watt clarion head unit I installed,
and, no, I'm not into music so loud I have to leave my car to listen to
it, or force people in other cars to hear it.
