THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS IN THE WORKSHOP MANUAL. LIFT THE CAR BY THE
SUBFRAME AND YOU ****-UP THE ALIGNMENT!

thats great to know.. but how the F do you jack the car up by the jack point
when the jackstand has to go in the EXACT same spot?!?! it's REALLY hard to
slide the jack out of the way, whicle it's supporting the car, and slip the
jackstand in it's place.

on my 88 90 the shape of the floor at the jack point is particularly
miserable for jacking and jackstanding. i have been using a wood block with
a 'v' cut in it to adapt my jackstands to the jack point seam weld. i
usually jack it up by the subframes so i can get 1/2 the car in the air at a
tme.

i used to jack it 6-8" aft of the arrow mark, so i can get a jackstand -
that kinda supports the corner of the floor inboard of the jackpoint a bit.
because i didnt feel good about jacking at the subframes for fear or ruining
bushings or something. using anything other than a tiny jack [like the
useless scissorjack the cars come with] you cant get the base of the
jackstand situated anywhere near the point that the jack is hitting bc the
jack has a big footprint. seems the cars are really designed to be jacked
with a lift or the oem jack only.

any advanced jacking techniques qould be greatly appreciated..

cheers,
jim
