As others have said, use a 2"x4" (50mmx100mm) block.
Cut a groove along its length the width of the seam;
about 2 passes with a saw should do it. The kerf
should be as deep as the seam, so the seam fits in
the groove and rests on the bottom of the groove.
The bottom of the sill will rest on the top of the
block.
The difficult part of using it is getting the jack
under it. I also use a couple of 2x8 blocks with
an end cut at 45 degrees, as a low cost, make shift
ramp. Gets it high enough for the jack to fit.
