Yep, seeing that now!!!!! Thanks.
So could that really cause misalignment problems?
I have seen on ebay aluminium subframe bushes. I understand how these
improve the car, but I remember there being an issue of subframe cracking.
Is this applicable to all the 80-90's audis? For example is it advisable on
my typ89? Although id probably use delrin instead!!! It is a road car after
all!!!

I admit that I jack up from the subframe often myself if the whole car
needs to go up. That being said your reasoning doesn't work. The control
arms/subframe do not support any of the sprung weight of the vehicle, the
upper strut mounting points do that. The subframe/control arms are there
to keep everything in line, and handle most of the fore/aft left/right
forces, everything _but_ pushing the car up pretty much. You could
carefully remove all the control arms/subframes and the car would still be
held up by the strut towers, just don't lean on it at all or it'll all
come fallin over ;)
Take care,
