Phil,
thanks for the info on the tools. as an awateur wrencher it's tough to know
what to buy because i don't hang out w/ mechanics and i tend to think 'the
more i spend the better it must be'. it's only with experience using and
breaking the stuff that you know what sucks and what doesn't. ive been
buying the crafstman 'pro' series of wrenches which are pretty nice for the
$$. ive had a few gorilla outbursts with them and haven't F'd up a fastener
or a wrench yet. therye also a little slimmer than usual so a bit easier for
bolts like the caliper guide pin bolts. its also a matter of working on cars
on sunday night, and when you need a tool, Sears is the only place open. i
did buy a set of facom screwdrivers a while ago and theyre fantastic.
what do you like for ratchets and torque wrenches? i've got a shoddy
mishmash and was thinking of spending some cash on a nice set. the Mac '0
degree' ratchets look REALLY slick, but i worry about relibility of the
mechanism. and ive had the same pos sears tork wrench for ages... any
experience you might share would be appreciated.
cheers,
jim
