Audi's Future

I still can't figure out what VAG is doing. I always thought that the
concept was that VW owners would 'move up' to an Audi - that's what I did.
But then the Passat W8 comes into the fold, giving current Passat owners
an option besides an A4/A6... Then the Phaeton completely messes
everything up - including the fact that you can get an A8L for the just
about the same price! Seems to me that VAG has a great chance to really
catch up to BMW, given the horrid 'Banglification' that is happening
there, and complaints about the steering of the new 5-Series and the ride
of the X3... But now VAG's products seem to be eating their own....
