Gasket for NG 2 piece intake manifold ...Stupid Question?

You can probably get away with reusing it, for the reasons you mention. 
  But, um, why are you having trouble finding one?  And prior to that 
question, why didn't you buy one *before* taking it apart?

Anyway, Atlantic Imported has always seemed to have them in stock when I 
want one, I'm sure the other specialists (the parts connection, etc.) 
also have them.  Cheap and ready to mail to you...

Anyway, if you reuse it to put the car back together, it is really easy 
to pop a new one in when you get your hands on it.
