Rack and Pinion bushing?

Just checking... is the rack and pinion bushing connected to the 
subframe at the stabilizer bar?  Also could a bad link rod be causing 
the issue of the steering problem I have been having... (one of them 
has quite a bit of play)

Took the subframe to the shop to get pushed in/out and they said they 
were just fine :o\ and said I should check the rack and pinion bushing 
instead.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (I think someone mentioned that 
earlier)  Havent found it in the bentley manual...
