Looking for matching headunit

Dude, which Pioneer do you have?  My Pioneer Premier that I bought at Xmas works like a dream and plays everything that I've ripped thus far, VBR, stuff I've gotten off of the 'net, etc.  You might think about taking it back, because although they aren't perfect by any means, it shouldn't be as bad as you are saying.  
Oh, one more thing, and I'm just asking to make sure.  Are you sure that yours plays MP3s?  The reason I ask is that there isn't much difference between headunits that play MP3s and ones that don't.  Word in the stereophile world is that the companies basically rebadge the MP3 unit, but the non-MP3 unit is capable of playing MP3s; only difference is like one chip.  Albeit, it can't play them as well, and yes, they do sound crappy, but they can play them.  Just a thought...  No insult intended.
