90q Back Together Again!

That sounds REAL scary! I doubt an alignment would fix that b/c it sounds as if the wheels aren't turning when you turn the steering wheel. You should try to duplicate the problem. Lift the front end and have one person try to hold the wheel in place while you turn the steering wheel, for each side. You may even trying to hold the steering wheel steady while another person tries to move the wheels. It just sounds like there's something loose in the suspension or maybe the rack is shot. After 200k, it may just be a bad rack, letting the pinion slip while the rack stays in place. Whatever it is I'd try to figure it out pronto... You don't want it to get any worse while you drive it around!!!

Take care.

Yay!

Well after all the trouble with the oil pan bolts, I finally got it all
back together again! It definitely needs an alignment, but at least
the annoying front end rattle while going over bumps is GONE! yay!

However, it definitely seems there is something wrong with the
steering, the steering wheel it still stays slightly left after making
a left turn... and vice versa after making a right turn... Its VERY
scary on the freeway when the steering wheel wont "turn" the car in
this play area.. (about 10* either way)

I just want to see if anyone has the same issue before throwing more
money at it... is there anything I can check without taking the rack
off?

Thanks!
