Saggy roof liner

I am in the middle of battling the same problem on my 5k. I attempted to
use 3M spray adhesive to attach the fabric back to the foam, but the next
layer of yellow foam just peeled away. I had the same problem with my GTI
a couple years back. I scraped away the foam and then the fabric stuck and
has stayed for a couple years. On the 5k, the headliner structure is glued
to the roof and integrated into the sunroof. Even if you pulled it down, I
don't think it would come out of the car without removing the rear window.
I'm going to try scraping the foam off with a vacuum cleaner nozzle to
avoid making a mess and stick it back on in place. If you try that, cover
up the interior well to catch spray adhesive overspray.

In the mean time, avoid opening your rear windows or sunroof while driving
since a good gust will pull down the rest of the headliner and make the
mess that Huw was talking about.
