SJ asked: "What kind of flaring tools do I need? Make, brand?
Does FLAPS carry the nipples and connecting parts? Are these standard metric
parts?
Any good sources for the tools?"
If I were doing this job, I'd make a line up from enough pieces of the
bendable metric brake lines available at better FLAPS. Prolly not gonna
find it at Pep Boys or the like, but our local Carquest store gets them for
me when I need them. They come in a number of lengths, and couplers are
readily available. Depending on your needs, you can usually come up with
something close to the right length. If the combo you choose is a bit long,
put a wiggle in it ................ The stuff's pretty cheap, and will end
up being far safer and easier to do than the home flared variety, which may
require a number of tries to end up with 2 (or 4!) good flares. Just take
an end in there and have them match it up. HTH, John
