First, thanks to all who responded about the camshaft pulley, worked out well and all is back together.
Now to the next question...
Now that all but the cosmetics are back in place and the car is running, there is a loud and relatively steady scrape/squeal coming from the area of the flywheel. Note: this car sat idle without so much as an engine crank for 1 1/2 years...
Car starts well, idles well, auto tranny easily goes into reverse or drive and pulls without problem. The scrape/squeal sound stays without regard to operation of transmission. Transmission fluid was low but was filled after about two seconds of this noise after the first start. My thought is the starter is not fully retracting and is scraping against the flywheel, but I haven't pulled it yet and may not have time to for another week or two now.
Your thoughts?
Thanks,
Eric Wulf
