dyno smog test on a very old type 43 -- passed

Hi All,

I had the California dyno smog tests done on my 5KT with over 330K miles on
it today. I passed each test far and away better than the limits but also
the averages. I was apprehensive, but it turns out that the dyno tests are
not as rigorous as the previous ones. The dyno takes longer, for the tester
wanted to be sure that the engine, Ox Sensor, and cat were hot.

My prep? I used a dwell meter a few days ago to check the ECU, OxS, freq
valve, etc. It had not had a "tuneup" for about 2 years.

All the current test does is triple the price that I paid 2 years ago; my
car runs no cleaner. I paid $80 at a "test only" station because my car has
a "High Emitter Profile". I wonder what technical genius decided that?

Replies and/or questions to my private email; I'm not monitoring the list
at present.

Cheers!

Jim Jordan
