C4 chassis remote lock help

I was under the impression that the remote locking system on all the 
S-cars is IR based via the receiver in the B-pillar and the 
transmitter in the key, with a single button.  At least, that's what 
Dan had for his S6 wagon many years ago.

If you have a radio remote, that's aftermarket and you should either 
talk to the previous owner and find out what kind it is, or start 
poking around under the hood and such for the control unit.

This is not normal.  Try greasing them with lithium grease.  If push 
comes to shove, you'll have to remove the cylinders, clean them, and 
reinstall.  I did it on my 5000, the lock is nothing to be scared of, 
and even if you drop all the tumblers on the floor- guess what?  You 
just jumble them around until they're in the right order since you 
have the key :-)  The only pain is that the later cars make it very 
difficult to get to the lock.
