You got to see what is tripping the light by reading the error code from the
ECU. Dealers can do this for $40-70, but usually there is a way to do it
yourself with a voltmeter and a manual. If the car seems fine, I would bet
on a lose gas cap or oil cap. New cars have sensors now mandated by the EPA
that trip the CE light if the caps aren't working properly. But if its
something like KNOCK sensor, you need to know and resolve the issue ASAP!!

Subject: '02 TT Check Engine light
Don't ever do this but I'm looking for some help for a special friend that I
converted to Audi.
Patient: 2002 TT 1.8 FWD 24k+
3rd time to the stealership and check engine light still stays on but the
car seems to run OK.
Bad cluster wire?
Bad sensor?
TIA!
