Is there a way to change the gear ratio on a 4kq?

Going to the 01A or 01E trans also means totally different shift linkages.
I am not sure it's feasible without some serious hackage.
How about the UrQ transmission and rear diff, 3.89:1 final drive
(or have the 4Kq trans and diff rebuilt to UrQ spec).
While first gear is still a stump puller, the taller final should
help the rest of the gears. These should fit the 4Kq perfectly
without need for shift linkage mods.
