Yes, you want to have your multimeter connected to measure current, on
the amp scale. Most multimeters only measure up to 1000 milliamps (1
amp) via the internal fused circuit. Others have an extra connection
for a 10amp unfused test circuit. Really good ones come with a shunt so
you can measure serious amperage... :)
You should be looking at in the neighbourhood of 100-300 milliamps with
for radio/clock etc. Make sure your doors are all closed so the
interior lights are out.
