In my opinion the H4 alone do not make up the entire high beam driving 
pattern.  When I very first put in my H1/H4s I did not have the H1 bulbs 
wired in.  Say for the first day or so.  I felt a little blind on high 
beam without them.  Of course everything is now squared away and they 
are great.  I am still even running standard wattages and the difference 
is amazing!  I still think I prefer the low beam pattern of my 4"x6" 
euros from my rabbit, but these high beams are better.
