Greg,
Your motronics is probably running the 2 bar MAP
sensor (3B motor yes?). It means that you won't be
able to regulate boost over 1 bar. Your turbo is
capable of running much higher boost. Stock RS2 run
1.8 bar. So to get what you can out of the RS2 turbo
and EM, you need to raise the boost ceiling. Even I am
running 1.4 bar on my 3B w/ a 2.5 bar MAP sensor and a
K24.
I think the 3 bar will do fine and you probably won't
need more for a long time. If and when you do, there
is a hardware upgrade available from VMAP.
Mihnea has advised me to use the RS2 head gasket when
upgrading to the RS2 turbo. You might want to do that.
