hydroplaning - I'm sold

The basic physics are fairly straightforward. I think
Huw and Doug covered the ground well. 

Now let's try and connect the dots. As I understand
the reasoning offered, it is being argued that :  
tire pressure -> patch -> aquaplaning area -> lowest
speed at which aquaplaning occurs. (Where -> can be
read roughly as "determines")

Let's look closer. 

- High tire pressure results in smaller patch
according to the reasoning.

- Smaller patch results in smaller aquaplaning area.

- Smaller planning area results in higher speed before
aquaplaning starts.

Seems to me to hold water - or skim on it :-)
