Any CIS-E III experts?

Not true, as I had already mentioned in a previous post.  CIS-E is
a fuel injection control system, and as such it knows nothings about
ignition.  Knock sensing ignition is a separate control module and
can be mated to a CIS-E system.  The 1985-87 4000S 4-cylinder models
have CIS-E with knock sensing ignition standard, as is the VW GTI and
Jetta GLI 10V models of the same period.
