Cannot recommend Stebro

Man, this sounds familiar. I think it was a leisurely 6 weeks to 2
months before Dan got off his arse and sent me the exhaust for my 4kq a
couple years back.

The most annoying part of the wait, IMO, is Dan's manner. "You didn't
get your exhaust this week? OK, it's in the mail. That's it. Yeah. It's
on its way." Two more weeks pass, you can call and get the same routine.
I'd almost prefer that he be rude and abusive.

In summation, the merchandise I bought finally did arrive. It's not a
fraudulent operation. But customer service is insulting in a weird sort
of way. You come away with the feeling that Dan thinks his clientele is
not emotionally equipped to hear the truth. If he had just told me,
"Hey, there's a backlog, it's gonna be maybe two months," I could have
lived with that. Maybe HE has some "issues"....hmmmm.

>I'm not trying to stick up for Stebro or anyone else for that matter, only that I was advised recently that there have been holdups/backlogs at customs (unrelated shipments) between US and CANADA for as much as 4 weeks. I think similar delays are occurring to/from other countries as well, as some things I've sent seem to be taking weeks instead of days.

> I know Dan and Stebro can be slow, but I have gotten my 2 exhaust systems from them no problem - turnaround was usually 2-3 weeks. That was a few years ago however.

>Remember, patience and politeness pays off in dividends. I hope you see the system soon - I hate waiting for parts.

> As of today it has been 1 month since I ordered my Stebro exhaust for my urquattro. One month! When I called Dan to order he said he had one built and ready and that it would take 10 to 14 days to ship. Within 24 hours my credit card had been tapped for the $700+.

> Two weeks ago when I called again and I was told I'd have it by mid week last week but still no exhaust. Finally on Friday he said it was at customs in New York and he'd have me a tracking number that day. Here it is Weds. Nov 3rd, one phone call and 3 or 4 emails later and still no tracking number.
>
> Clearly this guy is dishonest or his life is in chaos. Clearly he couldn't have had one ready to ship and he lied to get my business. I cannot see any other way a month could pass and a system ready to ship still hasn't arrived.
>
> Anyone want to post this to other car lists please feel free. Maybe Stebro will get their act together or driven out of business from this HORRIBLE customer service. To say I am upset and disappointed is an understatement. My quattro has been on a rack for weeks waiting. All the other work on the car long since completed.

> In closing, I'm a reasonable guy. Any good, honest explaination would have been fine with me. None ever came....
