Nokian studs---not durable?

Quote from my local tire dealer when I asked about the fact that they
only buy unstudded tires: "No, we don't use Nokian studs.  They use a
lightweight stud that's not very durable.  We use better Tungsten
Carbide studs."

Thoughts?  Do y'all who have been running Nokians find the studs less
durable than you'd expect?
