86 coupe timing belt

I am attempting to change the timing belt and waterpump on my coupe.
Anyone have any bright ideas on how to hold the dang crankshaft pulley
stable so I can turn the bolt.  Bentley makes reference to some Audi
special tool.  Looks like a great tool, but I don't have enough frequent
flyer miles to get over to Germany to buy one.  I can see em all now.
Sitting around after Oktoberfest laughing and laughing about special
tool 2084.
