2. How do they drive, i.e. are they real slushboxes?

They aren't too bad, similar to the V8 trans shifting. That is, as long as
they have had regular fluid changes. They have a sport button like the V8,
also, but no Manual function.

3. Are they durable?

Yes, if taken care of - for the most part, anyhow. I've seen them with 250K
on them properly maintained.
