Yea, to say the least.
$12k Basic Mandrel Bender.
$4-5k Mandrel tooling.
$1k Semi-decent Mig welder.
$2k Plasma cutter.
$1k Air compressor with grinding tools, hoses and stuff...
$2-3 Tig welder if you plan on working with Titanium and certain stainless
verieties...
I used to make custom exhaust systems for the 3000GT/Stealth cars. It's a
pain and there is little money in it.

I think I mis-spoke. I wasn't implying that you could take a v8 header,
add a runner and bolt it to the I5.
I meant, if someone can build a short-runner header for a 4 cyl bank(v8
spacing), they could do it for a 5 cyl bank (i5 spacing)
Just looking at what some of these pros can do with tubular steel is
astonishing. I think it's all about having the right tools, which are
prolly quite costly.

The V8 cylinder spacing is different. You maybe able to do that with a
20V but not a 10V.
