Wheel balancing 101

Powder? Hmmm. 

I've heard of using steel shot, way back when cars couldn't go over 30 mph. I'd like to see what that does to an aluminium rim!

I have seen weights that have a heavy powder in them that are clamped to the rim. The powder distributes itself within the weight to make a better balance.
