Real Audi rear main crank seals come with the aluminium bracket, which makes life much easier when trying to press the seal in. If your having problems you may have a groove worn into the crank seal surface. If you do you can purchase shaft savers whihc are a tin piece of stainless steel which presses over the sealing surface.
