I think I read in a post a while back about jumping lead 30 to lead 85 on
the fog light relay to keep the fog lights on with the high beams (or
something similar). I took a relay and soldered a lead from 30 to 85 and
popped it in and the low beams come on with the ignition with the light
switch off and the fog lights on if the fog light switch is on. This is
cool. Also the fog lights and the low beams stay on with the high beams on.
This is really cool.

I have wanted to do something like this for a long time but am finally
motivated now after almost hitting a mountain lion on the Olympic peninsula
two weekends age just after dark on a very lonely back road ( I may have
been going a little fast ) and wanted to do something about the amount of
light available. This would seem to improve the situation greatly.

My only question is this: Is there any negative side to doing this? Other
than extra draw on the alternator or battery? My alternator is new and the
battery is an Optima Red top.

Thanks,
