Some questions on safe boost to run on a 1.8T (again)

The car is a lease... I can move a boost controller to another car later on
(as a matter of fact, I already have one), but a chip is an investment that
is stuck with the car. Can anyone answer my original questions?
First, what is the stock max boost of the car?
What boost controllers are available, which work well?
What are *safe* boost levels on the stock fuel system?
Thanks,

Stay with the stock system and buy a chip upgrade from one of many
vendors. That will get you where you want to be. Don't bother with the
K&N. The air intake system on these cars is not where the restrictions
are and the oil from the K&N filter is often blamed for MAF sensor
failures.
