Some questions on safe boost to run on a 1.8T (again)

All cars have stock methods of boost control. I am sure that the ECU or
whatever device controls the waste gates could be tricked by bleeding off
some of the pressure going to the pressure sensor. That is pretty much how
boost controllers work. I guess I should get a book and look this up
myself...
Stock boost levels are ALWAYS very conservative. In the case of my 3000GT,
stock boost of 10PSI can be raised to 14PSI safely while still using all
stock fuel system. A $3 fish tank valve and a good boost gauge ($50-200) is
all that is required for gains of 40AWHP. With an addition of larger
injectors (~$200 and an S-AFC ~$250) the boost can go to 16-18PSI on regular
gas, but unfortunately the stock turbos run out of juice at that point and
then you spiral down the never ending tunnel of turbo upgrades, more fuel,
bigger lines, bigger pump, bigger FPR and knock control in forms of
water/alky/propane injection.
Not looking to go down the rabbit hole with this one, just a boost
controller for a few extra pounds...

I doubt you can use a boost controller, as if boost is exceeded the stock
ECU withh start shutting things down like the throttle plate or fuel pump.
