Am I correct in assuming you are in Hawaii? If so I don't think
mainland prices would be a valid comparison. I would think as long as
it is in good condition for that age car you will get your money's (sp)
worth. Baring down right abuse the engine will last forever. I didn't
notice if it was an automatic, but that could be a problem in the
future. On that age German car the only thing that really worries me is
the electrical system. I once test drove a Rabbit that allowed you to
run 2 accessories at once. Any more than that and the one of them would
stop like the wipers mid stroke. I walked away from that one and the
Rabbits were super basic vs. the car you are looking at. So just make
sure everything electrical works. If not and you still want it just
make sure to deduct that from the price...heavily.
