01A questions

What exactly are you trying to do? Welding gears may be impossible as they are extremly hard steel. The steel around the weld will get brittle. Add a ton of horsepower and that is not a good thing.

Even if you do successfully weld them, you just negated any heat treating that was done on the gear.
