I can't find it: Where do I check the trans fluid level on my '93 200CS

Brett,
You are looking in the right place, Audi put a cap in the tube. There isn't
a dipstick. You have to buy one from the dealer. Audi claimed these
transmissions were "lifetime", and no need to change or check the fluid
level - RIGHT!!

I found the fill tube by the master cylinder, but not the dipstick. 
Where on earth is this thing?  According to the owners manual, they should
be the same, but there is only a cap for the fill tube, not a dipstick.  It
doesn't look modified in any way.  the car has a rebuilt trans.  Would they
change this?
